Biography

Dr Qi Li obtained his PhD degree from the University of Manchester in 2013. Since then he has been working for the University of Manchester and National Grid UK for around 6 years before joining Chongqing University as a ‘100 Talents Plan Associate Professor’ of Chongqing City. Within academia and industry, he has led around 10 research projects within wide range of topics for power industry, including electromagnetic environmental emissions from UHV/EHV transmission lines, the application of artificial intelligent into power systems etc. Acting as main contributor, he has won twice the IET innovation awards (2012 and 2015). He was awarded a bronze price for his outstanding contribution for electricity transmission industry in the UK. He is an active member in CIGRE working group B2.69, a committee member in EPRI for transmission line planning, a committee member in IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Satellite Committee.
